The Chiang Mai Gymkhana Club
(the oldest club in Thailand, found 1898)

Lanna Golf Club
Located only 20 minutes from downtown, is one of Thailand finest courses.   Created in 1974, this lovely 27 hole course, adjacent to the race track, offers three distinctly unique design styles, with panoramic views of Chiang Mai famed Doi Suthep temple on the mountain top to the west.   The golf course winds through impressive boulevards of huge trees, skirts many large lakes, ponds, and criss crosses numerous bubbling streams and canals.   Open daily from 5.30 am - 7 pm, telephone 53 211-556,221-911 Fax.221-743

Green Valley Country Golf Club
Situated in the lowlands, only 30 minutes from downtown, has a championship course, which offers an unusually tough challenge - 7,200 yards of wide open fairways, tough water hazards on every hole, plenty of bunkers and trees.   Ideally played in the early morning or late afternoon, this tournament caliber course has Chiang Mai most superbly conditioned and maintained fairways and greens.   Open daily from 6 am - 7 pm, telephone 53 298-220-3.

Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort
This course was designed in 1995 by 5 times British Open winner Peter Thompson and Michael Wolveridge.   This 6,900 yard, par 72, park-land style course is located 40 minutes from downtown, in the foothills of Northern Thailand.   The former fruit orchard, provides breathtaking panoramic vistas of mountains in the distance and the high altitude provides a cooler, less humid climate, with sweet refreshing air and gentle breezes.   Year round, its filled with the songs of birds, an abundance of wildlife and thousands of flowering.   The design uses elements from a British links style course, including bumpy gently rolling fairways, pot bunkers, and closely mowed areas around the greens.   Open daily from 6 am - 7 pm, telephone 53-849-301, fax.53-849-310, email  sales1@royalchiangmai.com or visit golf1@cm.ksc.co.th

Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Club
This course was designed in 1990 and was the official venue for the 18th Southeast Asian Games in 1995.   It is situated in the heart of a beautiful valley 40 minutes east from Chiang Mai.   In the foothills of Northern Thailand, amid an enchanting forest of golden teak trees, these 18 holes are par 72, and 6919 yards.   In addition to its natural attributes, the architecture of the course, offers players wonderful views and numerous technical combinations.   Open daily from 6 am - 7 pm, telephone 53 880-880-4, fax 880-888, email chiangmaigolf@chiangmai.a-net.net.th or visit www.chiangmaigolf.com
